These are pictures of my latest project: Adire Audio's HE10.1 speakers. These are a large bass reflex bookshelf design using a 10" woofer with a compression tweeter mounted directly behind the dustcap creating a coaxial speaker.

These were constructed of 3/4" MDF with 3/4" solid Willow on the sides as an accent. The Willow was sanded to 220 grit then coated with Danish oil for one hour. The excess oil was then wiped off and covered with more oil for another hour. After the excess was wiped up another thick coat of oil was applied and the wood was then wet sanded with 320 grit using the oil as the lubricant. This process was then repeated with 500 grit.
After all of the oil was dry 4 coats of Deft lacquer was applied to give it the depth and sheen I was after. I am very happy with the results; it has a really nice depth and the colors seem to change depending on the angle in which it is viewed. These are brand new and still have not broken in so I have not done any critical listening. Based on the very little listening I have done, these look to be a great set of speakers.
